SPOTLIGHT ATHLETE: CAITLIN RICCIARELLI
Congratulations Caitlin, May's spotlight athlete.
Caitlin was selected because she’s highly dedicated and lot of fun to be around. She’s compassionate about others and always willing to jump in, whether it's a partner workout or an Open Friday Night Lights. Caitlin is easy to coach and is always trying to improve her Olympic lifts. Caitlin is a great friend and community member and is always eager to celebrate others so we couldn't be happier for her to have her own turn!
What do you do for work? I am a Performance Improvement Manager with the South Shore Health Integrated Delivery Network. I don’t expect anyone to know what that means, but I work a lot with provider practices and insurance requirements :)
What would you like us to know about you and your family? I was born and raised in Hanover, and live in Whitman now with my husband, Ronnie, and two step kids. Lucas is turning 13 this month, and Charley is turning 11 next month.
What is one thing that we may not know about you?
I am half British. My dad is from Stevenage, England. My parents met in Bermuda while they were both living and working there in 1980.
How long have you been training and what time do you typically train?
I have been with Cynergy since January of 2023, but have been doing CrossFit since 2018. I train at 6am or 915am.
What is your favorite lift and why?
Power Cleans because I have continued to progressively PR over the last couple of years!
What is your favorite WOD and why?
Annie. I know it’s just dubs and sit-ups, and no lifts, but it was one fast paced workout that I was actually fast at for me!
What are your current life goals?
To continue to work on a healthy, balanced life, and show up for my family and friends. Work hard, play hard!
What is your most memorable time as an athlete?
When I volunteered to do one of the CrossFit open workouts in front of everyone in 2024. The crowd was massive, and energy was out of this world! The burpees were deadly….
How has training impacted your life outside of the box?
The Cynergy community has grown to be my second family. I don’t feel like my day is complete if I haven’t made it in for a workout, which makes it challenging for rest days! It’s an instant mood booster for the rest of the day if I’m able to see my morning people and have a few laughs to kick off the day (apologies to the coaches when things are a little off the wall, especially at 6am classes:)).
